Had a bit of a ‘sesh’ last night with the guys in the
next camping spot. They’ve
been travelling Oz for a year now and are originally from the sunshine
coast in Queensland. Woke
up rather hungover and had to delay getting up until 10ish!
Fred seemed to have faired better.
We finally packed up and set off.
The cold, grey and windy weather blew the hangover away.
We visited the inland sections of Kalbarri NP, acessed by way of a painfully corrugated 20 km dirt road! The spectacular gorges formed by the winding Murchison River made the trip worthwhile. The park also had some great walking trails and free gas BBQs – so we had burgers for lunch. We then set off back to the main coast road and north to Shark Bay. Very remote, dry sheep station country. Stopped at Whalebone Road campsite (permit obtained by fax from Shire Council). Camped on shores of sheltered, shallow bay. |
