Beautiful day, although still a little chilly and rather breezy.  Drove up the Peninsular to Denham, the main ‘town’ (more of a village).  Had a wander around and stocked up on sunscreen.

Then headed out to Francois Peron National Park – 4WD mecca.  The National Park was actually a working sheep station until 1993.  We stopped at the Homestead for lunch and a dip in the “Hot Tub”.  This is a pool that is filled with water from an artesian bore (40 degrees C when it gushes out of the ground).  We watched a group of emus drinking and splasing in the runout pool from the comfort of the tub.  It was too hot to stay in for any length of time, though.

Explored the sandy tracks and beaches of the park.  Nearly got stuck in a very fluffy sand while turning round.  Travelled the loop up to Cape Peron, before setting up camp at Herald Bight.  A calm bay with beautifully clear water.  I had a swim at sunset.  Took a while to get in as the water was rather chilly.
