Finally left Erzurum for the last haul in Turkey to the border town of Dogubayazit. Wrapping heatger tape around the fuel filter made some difference to the landrovers performance bit it still is not right. Fortunately, the temperature seems to be rising (in single negatives now rather than double). We were delayed for a while by what I can only assume was the oversized truck that eventually came through some 40 minutes later. We arrived at the rather dingy and rough frontier town of Dogubayazit (termed “Dogbiscuit” by the Rough Guide) at 4ish. Spent evening in a strategic planning session for the coming days.
