Sunday 28 November |
Woke quite late – but not hungover! Went over to Jo and Freddy’s (Andrew) – very confusing: 2
“Jo and Fred”s. Still
rainy and windy. They’ve
bought their flat and are currently having work done on the roof.
Apparently, the upstairs flats are having to juggle pans under
the leaks! Anyhow, when
Fred had given the neighbour the relevant numbers for the roofing
contractor, we set forth for Leith (a once dodgy area of the city) and
now home to the Britannia.
The tour of the boat was interesting but rather pricey at £7.50 each. The boat wasn’t as luxurious as one might expect. As the tour kept pointing out – it was designed to be functional. We learnt about Wombat fan tennis and that the boat was manned by 140 naval staff as well as the Royal Household staff. Spent a long time at Britannia and so missed lunch hours at pubs. Went back to the flat and Freddy (Andrew) cooked a curry. After which we said our farewells and went back to “slob out” at Gill’s and to pick up the junk that we had left. |
