Fred poorly. He didn’t even want any breakfast (which we had already paid for!). Said he wanted to travel anyway as it would take his mind off things. Also claimed that if I drove he would be travel sick. Set off through the hills and somewhat flooded valleys of the Ardennes. Very scenic. I don’t know if there has been a lot more rain than normal but I’m sure that it isn’t normal to see a lot of houses semi-submerged in water (not to mention allotments). Entered our 2nd (3rd counting the UK) country on our expedition at 10:20am. No sign of anything remotely official on exiting France and entering Belgium. We’ll have to find a bank at some stage before paying for anything without a credit card. Arrived at Spa around lunch time. Had a trundle around this pretty, but rather run down town. Admired the GR markers (Fred & Ben came through here on their walk). Considered getting a hotel as Fred is still feeling poorly. However, we couldn’t find anywhere that was open and so departed for Liege for a motel where I sit writing this. Fred is now asleep and will hopefully sleep off whatever has been attacking his insides. - He says that he is preparing himself for India. |
