Had an entertaining and interesting guided tour of the
Birdsville Working Museum. The
museum is run by a really eccentric guy who restores old Cobb & Co
carriages, carts and various other machinery.
He also makes harnesses and saddlery using the old machinery.
Left Birdsville and spent the day driving to Innamincka via the Cordillo Downs road. Desert country through cattle stations and past oil and gas fields. Land varies between gibber plain (stony/pebbly surface) and sand dunes. Innamincka is even smaller than Birdsville! Camped at a beautiful spot next to the Coopers River. Plenty of water and bird life. |
