Had a lovely drive out from our secluded camping spot
back to the road. Bumped
into Zane and Becca at a Scenic Lookout on the way to Karijini –
caught up with what they’ve been up to.
They’ve spent a couple of days in Karijini National Park and
are heading to Tom Price and then back up to the coast.
We might catch up with them in Broome.
Continued on to the National Park and spent the day exploring the most amazing gorges. Sadly they haven’t photographed too well – light contrast problems. Had some wonderful walks and scrambles in superb settings. We were too wimpy to swim in the pools, which were on the chilly side. We did have to wade through a couple. The scramble down Hancock Gorge was the best – vertical rock walls towering over over you and only 1m wide in places. Water ran through it the whole way. We visited all of the gorges up the west end of the Park before setting up camp at the Fortescue Camping area. Thoughtfully laid out with secluded camping bays in the bush. |
