Picked up our battery and electric outboard for the boat. Unfortunately the fishing gear that we had been promised was unavailable. Someone had hired a boat for the full day (after we booked) and apparently their extra money entitled them to ALL of the fishing gear. Not impressed! The Chamberlain Gorge was beautiful. However, it was not really long enough to keep us occupied for a full half day, despite Fred giving me a rowing lesson. It was rather pleasant just to drift along on the water. Didn’t see any crocodiles, neither salt nor freshwater variety. We spent the afternoon exploring El Questro Gorge on foot. It was wonderfully cool and shaded. The narrow, steep sided gorge enabled rainforest-like vegetation to thrive. There ws a cool pool and waterfall to splash around in without the fear of saltwater crocs. |
