Packed up camp and changed the wheel on the Discovery
before setting off for another attempt at finding Surveyors Pool.
No wind or smoke today. Set
off following the washout that became a creek on the other side of the
wall of grass. The creek
petered out as the land flattened. As we didn’t have any topographical maps, we made a guess
based on the lay of the land as to where we felt the pool might be.
We didn’t actually find Surveyors Pool but we did find several
different and beautiful pools strung along a creek.
Had an
excellent walk, despite not finding the correct pool.
I guess we’ll have to come back another time!
Left the Mitchell Plateau and Falls behind us and camped at the king Edward River. Michael and James treated us to pizza cooked in their camp oven. We thoroughly enjoyed our last evening together before we go our separate ways. We were even able to hook our laptop up to their video camera to view the video of their trip so far. Excellent. Whet our appetites for the Bungle Bungles. |
