Arrived in Clermont and pootled into the city centre and wandered up and down the hill on narrow pedestrian back street.  The big, black-stone cathedral on the hill was impressive.  We wandered in and listened to a christmas rehersal for a while.  When we’d had enough of the town centre, we headed back to the motel and ate within walking distance so that we could both have a drink with our meal.
