Waved goodbye to Greece and set off, once more, on our
expedition into the unknown. Entry
into Turkey was something of a form fillers heaven with about 6
different people to visit, each of whom brandished numerous rubber
stamps. Plenty of scope to
lose the numerous pieces of loose paper.
Border formalities completed, we travelled through the ‘greenish’
brown rolling hills towards Istanbul and Asia.
The road meets the Sea of Marmara at Tekirdag and remains with it into Istanbul. We checked into a campsite approximately 10km from town centre and took a train ride into the centre for a brief exploration. The train provides excellent views out over the remaining city walls. |
