Left the cool air of the Hill Resort and replaced it with the fresh sea breeze of the Coastal Resort.  Ganpatipule is a small village which has a long sandy beach fringed with coconut palms and pine trees.  The only down side is that there is quite a current heading down the beach.  It is such a long beach that it isn’t difficult to find a stretch to yourselves.  Most people seem to cluster and swim in the area near to the temple – otherwise you don’t see a soul.

It wasn’t long before we were splashing about and enjoying a swim in the sea.  We had explored the beach prior to swimming and I was rather conscious of the fact that the only Indian women to go into the sea were doing so fully clothed!  No womanly flesh exposed here!  I decided to go with the flow and swam in T-shirt and sarong – not easy when there’s a strong current.
