Long drive to Jalgaon, a convenient point from which to
see the Ajanta caves tomorrow. The
road from Mandu out to the main NH3 was the worst road that we’ve come
across in India. Potholed,
bumpy and narrow. It took
nearly 2 hours to cover 46 miles. Once
on the main highway, the road surface was reasonable.
We noticed an immense improvement when we crossed the State
border into Mahareshtra (I guess more of the ‘road money’ actually
finds its way into the roads!).
We stayed the night at the Hotel Plaza, a family run place. Clean and very reasonably priced with exceptionally friendly staff. We were given Royal treatment, tea on arrival and departure. We were invited up to show the family our gadgets and gismos.
