Found the ski hire place recommended by the tourist
office. Ski hire no problem
but finding an instructor on a Sunday without notice was more of a
problem. The guy at the ski
hire place said that we should come back in an hour and he’d see what
he could do. We wandered
off to find a change office and returned an hour later but unfortunatley
he had no luck. So we set
off to try for ourselves, armed with our skiing equipment.
Fortunately, we didn’t have go far and we booked a lesson for
12:30 – an hour and a half to kill.
Found coffee and went to watch a slalom competition. Skiing required a great deal of concentration and was more tiring than I had expected. By the end of our first lesson (and practice session afterwards) we were both able to stop, turn and were proficient enough to go down the easy slope. |
