Walked out to Manning
Gorge Waterfall before packing up camp.
Actually, we had to swim the first part, so Nicky’s waterproof
canoeing bag came in very handy for keeping clothing, boots and camera
dry. We didn’t take any
chances and floated the whole lot in a spare inner tube.
We were the first people to reach the waterfalls and throughly
enjoyed the solitude as we splashed and played around the picturesque
falls. There was one spot
that formed a comfortable ‘armchair jaccuzzi’.
We eventually returned to pack up our stuff and check if our fuel cap had been delivered. Sadly not! We rang the Imintji Store and they managed to hand it to someone coming through. All we had to do was sit and wait. Plenty to eat and drink. It provided the ideal opportunity to bung the washing through the machine. Fuel cap arrived and we gratefully thanked its delivery truck and were on our way. Popped into see Barnett River Gorge. Quite pretty, but nothing special. Travelled on to Drysdale River Station. Fuel, chat and then down the road to their bush camp at Miners Pool. Had a swim, followed by a hot shower (the ultimate luxury in our camping equipment). |
