(Christmas Day) UP with the lark (well 8:30ish anyway). Went down to Condat to collect bread and essential pain au chocolat for Brekkie. Came back to the Sweet Little House to enjoy them with good coffee. Sent a few Christmas e-mails and then waddled down to the ‘main house’ for a thoroughly traditional English Christmas. This commenced with champagne while opening pressies. (Many thanks to: Di & Peter, Ben & Nicki, Joy & David, Kook, Richard and Esther, Granny and Grandpa, and Mum & Dad for all of their presents). Present opening was followed by the most delicious Christmas lunch with turkey, brussel sprouts and all the trimmings and an extremely good Christmas pudding for those of us who like the taste – many thanks to Di once again. Nicki had made some crackers, so we now have a ‘panic’ and ‘eject’ button on the console in the landrover! Despite the windy, drizzly weather (which fortunately paused for a break mid-afternoon) we all went for an ‘after dinner’ walk to clear the head (and settle the stomach). On our return, we settled down to watch Notting Hill (on video), while the boys took Peter’s computer to pieces to install the new mouse and webcom that Ben had bought him for Christmas. |
