Changed some money (just in case) and went to find the carpart shops as directed by the hotel. Found several. Waited to see if a shock absorber from a Tata Sumo/Sierra would fit the bill. Much too short. Waited to see if another place could find anything suitable. Chatted, discussed the state of the world and drank coffee. No luck, but they reckoned they would have a go at welding the broken one. After warning them of the dangers of gas filled shock absorbers, we agreed and left them to it. We went to book tomorrows accommodation at the tourist office. Returned to fetch the shock absorber after lunch. Welded back together for 60 rupees. Interesting to see how well it holds out. |
