Woke up late and had a lazy morning.  Caught up with the News on BBC World.  Arranged for laundry to be done.  Fred went into town to buy insurance while I handwashed our smalls (the laundry won’t take them).  I’d know idea we had so much underwear!  Wandered back into town.  People everywhere but very few women on the streets.  Bustling, colourful town.  The brightly painted and highly decorated buses and motorised rickshaws have to be seen to be believed.  Sheep and goats grazing on patches of land that seem to only have a tinge of green.

Had ‘Afghan’ lunch.  Very tasty.  Bought Fred some ‘pajamas’.  Actually Shalwar Chemise – baggy trousers and long shirt worn by many Pakistanis (both men and women).  Phoned home to check how David was recuperating and to let them know that we were alive and well.  Just as well we did phone, seeing as there have been bomb attacks in Tehran and also in Hyderabad.  As long as we stay away from the trouble…!  Do we leave problems in our wake?  Found internet place and checked and responded to e-mails.  Then returned to hotel to catch up on Web site, while Fred washed the Landrover!!  It’s almost shining now – it doesn’t look like the same vehicle.  We could do with finding a pressure washer to clean the chassis.  As it is the Chinese New Year, we went to the Chinese Café down the road for supper.  They didn’t seem to be celebrating but it was a good meal.
