Set off for Madras – our final destination in India. The road was very busy, being the main Bombay – Madras Highway. Mostly very slow trucks. Naturally, traffic became worse the nearer we got to Madras. We crawled our way into Madras around 3ish and found the YWCA, the only place listed as having a carpark. Fortuately, we ahd the foresight to purchase a map in Bangalore and located the hotel that they run with no problems. It is run as a hotel rather than a hostel and isn’t the type of place normally conjured up by these initials. In fact, it’s rather pricy and as we need to stay for a couple of weeks, we will look into other options. It does, however, have gardens and a large carpark. Sadly, they don’t allow camping. |
